Education and Personal Life

In 2018, I completed my bachelor in economics and German. In that time, As part of my bachelor, I also studied psychology for one year. While at the time, it was not the right decision for me to study psychology any further from an academic perspective, the experience sparked the interest that has stayed with me ever since. Little did I know, in 2022 it would be the world of psychology and coaching in particular that I would want to return too.

As Steve Jobs said, “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.” I have also derived great confidence from that quote as it is a reminder that no experience is wasted and can be relevant in our next step.

During my bachelor in 2017, I studied for one year in Hannover Germany, as past of the Erasmus programme. My time in Germany, was one of the most important and transformative of my life. I was fortunate to make many friends from all around the world, travel to many new cities and gain a new sense of independence and confidence by living abroad and navigating everyday life in a foreign language. I often look back in my year abroad as the moment in time, where I started to become the person that I am today and left behind the version of my who at best was “just getting by and directionless.” rather than the more confident, happier and purpose filled person I am today in 2023.

In 2018, I met my future wife Julia, when we started the same job on the same day. We instantly hit it off and moved into together just a few months later. From the outside it seemed like a crazy decision, but there was no doubt in my mind it was the right decision. We got married just under 5 years later in June 2023 in Kinsale. We live with our dachshund Pablo and cat Willow and are enjoying gradually becoming costal people.

In my free time, I love photography. I enjoy visiting and photographing new cities to capture the different architecture styles and atmosphere of a new place. I also enjoy sea swimming, tennis and I am currently learning how to surf. Lastly, I am a fan of Manchester United, which has taught me a lot about patience in recent years.
